Manual for principals

Welcome to Schackappen

Get started in about 5 minutes — and your school is ready to start playing chess.

Do this calmly, well before the first lesson. Invite your teachers a few days ahead — that way they can create their accounts and try logging in themselves before the students arrive. That way you get a calm, pleasant start.
The teacher portal is currently in Swedish. Below, the Swedish button names are shown in quotes with the English meaning in brackets, so you can follow along on screen.

Invite your teachers

~1 minute per teacher
  1. On your dashboard, find the section "Lärare i din skola" (Teachers in your school)
  2. Click "+ Bjud in lärare" (+ Invite teacher)
  3. Just enter the teacher's email (they enter their own name at registration)
  4. Click "Skicka inbjudan" (Send invitation). An invitation email is sent to the teacher automatically.
  5. The box that appears also contains the link to copy. Tip: copy it and send it to the teacher yourself (e.g. via Teams or text message) before you close the box — that way they have the link right away, even if the email is delayed or lands in the junk folder.
  6. When the teacher opens the link they create their account and are automatically connected to your school
Good to know: The teacher gets one email (the invitation). They click the link, pick a name and password and are logged in right away. Remind them to check the junk folder if the invitation is delayed. More in Get started — teacher.

Teachers take it from here (their job)

Per teacher

Once a teacher has registered, they create their classes, add students and share the class codes with them. You don't need to do this as a principal — point your teachers to the Get started — teacher guide.
