Schackappen runs straight in the browser — nothing to download from an app store. But if you save it to your home screen you get your own app icon, it opens full-screen, and the student gets back in with a single tap. Here's how, step by step, on your device.
Save to your home screen
iPhone & iPad (Safari)
Open skola.schackappen.se in Safari.
Tap the Share icon
(at the bottom, or at the top on iPad).
Scroll and choose Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add — done.
Android (Chrome)
Open skola.schackappen.se in Chrome.
Tap the menu icon
at the top right.
Choose Install app (or Add to Home screen).
Confirm — done.
Computer (Chrome / Edge)
Open skola.schackappen.se in Chrome or Edge.
Click the install icon
at the far right of the address bar.
Click Install — the app gets its own icon.
Good to know: No app store and no App Store or Google Play account needed. The app updates automatically — you never have to download a new version.
Are you a teacher? The same simple steps save the teacher portal as an app — open portal.schackappen.se instead. Then you have your tool a tap away, just like the students have the app.
Open the app (from your home screen or skola.schackappen.se).
Enter the class code you got from your teacher.
Choose your name and your figure from the list.
Type your PIN — and you're in.
No email and no personal password to remember. The student logs in with a class code, name and a short PIN — that's all.
Lost your PIN?
No worries — it's sorted in seconds. Ask your teacher, and they'll give you a new PIN in the teacher portal. You never need an email, password or support to get back in.
For the teacher: You reset a student's PIN in the teacher portal (portal.schackappen.se) on the student's card. The student then logs in with the new code — old statistics and progress remain.
